FARRON TATES TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR FIRST-DEGREE MURDER

TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2008

Baltimore, MD – May 5, 2008 – An arraignment for Farron Tates, 16, of the 3600 block of Fords Lane, is scheduled for 9:30AM tomorrow before Judge Sylvester Cox, 203 Mitchell Courthouse, 110 N. Calvert Street.

The Baltimore City Grand Jury indicted Tates March 31, 2008 for first-degree murder and handgun counts.

Court documents allege Tates was responsible for a shooting incident on March 1, 2008 in the 5000 block of Denmore Avenue.  Anthony Underwood and Tates were engaged in an altercation when Tates produced a handgun and shot him in the head and chest.  Underwood died at the scene.

Tates remains held without bail at the Baltimore City Detention Center.  Assistant State’s Attorney Richard Gibson will prosecute this case.
