Baltimore, MD – May 9, 2007 – Judge John C. Themelis sentenced James Davis, 39, of the 200 block of Garrison Blvd. to 25 years for Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, 20 years for Conspiracy to Rob and five years for the robbery to run consecutively.
On March 11,
2008, a Baltimore City jury convicted James Davis of Garrison Blvd. of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and
Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
On June 27, 2007 at approximately 6 p.m. at the 7-11 convenience store located at 5219 Reisterstown Rd. employees of the 7-11 reported that a black male later identified as Dominique Cook, entered the store and pointed a black handgun at Abenet Woldigioreo, an employee, and stated “Don’t move, get me the money” The employee opened the cash register and handed over $91 in US currency to Cook. Another employee observed Cook exit the store and get into a silver Dodge Neon. The employee was able to get a partial tag number. The vehicle drove westbound on Garrison Blvd. A broadcast went out and an officer stopped a Dodge Neon with the same partial tag number.
The front seat passenger was identified as James Davis. Cook was located in the rear passenger seat and recovered from him was a Smith and Wesson revolver. Third suspect co Dominick Jones was also located in the vehicle. $30 US currency was recovered from the three co-defendants.
Investigation revealed that Davis hired a hack and asked the hack driver to pick up Cook at the 7-11 after the robbery. Davis then had the hack driver pick up the third co-defendant, who was acting as a look out, at another area of the block. The three co-defendants split up the money and were overheard discussing the robbery, by the hack driver who testified at the trial.
Cook provided a taped statement to police implicating co-defendants Davis and Jones. Jones also made a statement to police.
Cook and Jones pled guilty prior to trial.
Assistant State’s Attorney Michelle
Wilson prosecuted this case.
