CHARLES JAKES INDICTED FOR

FIRST-DEGREE MURDER

 

            Baltimore, MD – May 9, 2008 – State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy announced today that the Baltimore City Grand Jury indicted Charles Jakes, 18, of the 1900 block of Patterson Park Avenue for first-degree murder.

 

            Court documents allege that Charles Jakes was responsible for the death of Shaundretta Griffin, 14, on April 14, 2008 in the 1900 block of Patterson Park Avenue.  Griffin was found suffering from a gunshot to the head in the basement of the home of the defendant.  She died later at Union Memorial Hospital.

 

An arraignment is scheduled for June 2, 2008 before Judge W. Michel Pierson, Room 329, Courthouse East.
