DAVID JAMES MARSHALL FIRST-DEGREE MURDER TRIAL SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 24, 2008

Baltimore, MD – June 23, 2008 – The murder trial of David James Marshall, 17, of the 200 block of S. Calhoun St. is scheduled for 9:30AM tomorrow before Judge John P. Miller, 428 Mitchell Courthouse, 110 N. Calvert St.

The Baltimore City Grand Jury indicted Marshall and Wayne Morris, 22, May 5, 2006 for first-degree murder, two counts of robbery deadly weapon and four counts of kidnapping.

The court ordered that co-defendant Wayne Morris’ case be severed from Marshall’s case and his trial is scheduled to begin at the conclusion of Morris’ trial.

Court documents allege that on April 20, 2006 at 1404 Kuper Street, Marshall and Morris broke into the house, announced a robbery, and shot and killed an occupant of the home, Robert Atkinson, 47.

Marshall and Morris remain held without bail in the Baltimore City Detention Center.  Assistant State’s Attorney Theresa Shaffer of the Homicide Division will prosecute this case.
