DAMON SIMPSON PLEADS GUILTY TO SECOND-DEGREE MURDER; SENTENCED TO 25-YEARS IN PRISON SUSPEND ALL BUT 15-YEARS          

 

            Baltimore, MD – June 25, 2008 – At a hearing today Damon Simpson, 16, of the 3300 block of Brighton Street pled guilty to second-degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence. 

 

            Judge Charles G. Bernstein sentenced Simpson to 25-years in prison suspend all but 15-years, the first five-years to be served without the possibility of parole and five-years probation.

 

            On March 20, 2007 Simpson, then 15-years old, fatally shot Charles Hargrove multiple times in the 2600 block of Rayner Avenue.

 

            Assistant State’s Attorney Diana Smith of the Homicide Division prosecuted this case.
