June 27, 2011 -- A Baltimore City Circuit Court jury convicted Dante Jeter today of first-degree murder and other charges for killing a man who owed him $150.
On May 4, 2008, Tyrone Freeman and a second individual made their way to an abandoned house in the city's eastern district with Jeter, ostensibly to smoke pot. But before the three entered, Jeter drew a .45 caliber handgun and shot Freeman, who owed him money, in the head.
In addition to first-degree murder, Jeter, a 24-year-old also known as Dante Gee, was convicted of two handgun counts.
Scheduled for sentencing on August 10, 2011, Jeter faces a maximum of life plus 23 years in prison.
Assistant State's Attorney Richard Gibson prosecuted the case.
