Office of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City

For Immediate Release 5/11/2015

Harrison Bright, 26, is facing Life in prison after a jury found him guilty of murdering Shawn Pooler, on August 13, 2013.

Just before 2a.m., officers from the Baltimore Police Department responded to the 500 block of Tunbridge Road for a shooting, where they found Pooler suffering from multiple gunshots wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

After a thorough investigation detectives learned Pooler and Bright had been arguing just moments before the shooting. Bright left but returned with a gun and brutally shot Pooler four times. Three witnesses identified Bright as the killer.

“This case highlights, again, the fact that courageous witnesses are the key to getting violent offenders off our streets and turning our city into a safe and thriving community,” said State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby.

In 2011, Bright was convicted of a handgun violation, and possession of drugs. In 2007, he was convicted of distributing drugs and violating his parole.

Assistant State’s Attorney Traci Robinson tried the case. Bright was found guilty on all counts. He is scheduled for sentencing June 20, 2015.
