Henry Carter, 21, faces 103 years behind bars in the murder of Ricky Price, and for the shooting of Gerald Jones.

A jury convicted Carter of second degree murder, attempted second degree murder, two counts of using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence and wear, carry and transporting a handgun. Assistant State’s Attorney Angela Diehl prosecuted this case.

On September 19, 2013 officers responded to the 1700 block of Milton Avenue for a shooting. Officers found Ricky Price, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back lying on the steps of a vacant house located at 1734 Milton Avenue. Mr. Price would later die from his injuries. During the course of their investigation police later learned of another victim, Gerald Jones, who was shot on his right side and admitted to the hospital.

“The shootings and murders in this city have to stop,” said State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby. “I appreciate the 3 witnesses that came forward to identify Mr. Carter as the triggerman behind this senseless murder and shooting. People are tired of the violence in our communities and they are coming forward to say enough is enough.”
