Office of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City

For Immediate Release 5/28/2015

Carlos Wheeler was sentenced Thursday to Life in prison after being convicted of conspiracy to commit first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and second degree assault. Law enforcement knows Wheeler as a member of a Broadway East drug gang known as the “Gucci Boys.” Attorneys from the Major Investigations Unit prosecuted the case.

On May 27, 2013, after an early morning scuffle at the legendary Captain James Landing Seafood Palace, Wheeler and his girlfriend had engaged in a brazen, revenge inspired shooting spree on the streets of Baltimore that left two people seriously injured.

During the spree, Wheeler was transported to each location by his girlfriend. At one location, Wheeler and another coconspirator shot one victim several times. At the second location, Wheeler was the lone shooter.

“If you attempt to take a life in this city, I will do everything within my power to ensure that you spend the rest of yours behind bars. No one is above the law in Baltimore City.” State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby said.
