February 16, 2012 -- Following just one hour of deliberations, a Baltimore City Circuit Court jury convicted Antonio W. Taylor on Tuesday of first-degree murder and other charges for killing a man who was sitting in a vehicle parked just outside of his home.
On November 3, 2009, Taylor entered the passenger seat of a green Ford Explorer located in the 2400 block of Pickering Drive. The victim, Allen Johnson, who lived in a nearby apartment building, was sitting in the driver's seat. Taylor shot Johnson six times with a .380 caliber handgun, killing him.
In addition to first-degree murder, the jury also convicted Taylor, 22, of use of a handgun in the commission of a felony or crime of violence and wearing, carrying, and transporting a handgun.
Taylor faces maximum sentence of life plus 20 years in prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
Assistant State's Attorney Andrea Mason prosecuted the case.
