1.17.12: Glenn Convicted for Raping Woman after Luring Her into Car by Posing as Hack
January 27, 2012 -- A Baltimore City Circuit Court jury convicted Michael D. Glenn today for raping a woman a knifepoint in a city park after picking her up by posing as a hack taxi driver.
On May 8, 2011, Glenn offered to transport the victim to her destination in exchange for a fee. But after she entered the vehicle, he instead drove her to Leakin Park, put a boxcutter knife to her neck, repeatedly threatened to kill her, and raped her.
The jury found Glenn, 27, guilty of first-degree rape, first-degree sex offense, third-degree sex offense, first-degree assault, and use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure.
Scheduled for sentencing on April 4, 2012, Glenn faces a maximum of two life terms plus 38 years in prison.
Assistant State's Attorney Katherine Smeltzer prosecuted the case.
