5.4.11: Man Sentenced to Two Life Terms for Role in Double Homicide
May 4, 2011 -- Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lawrence P. Fletcher-Hill sentenced Timothy Crockett, 26, yesterday to two life sentences, with all but 45 years suspended, for his involvement in the murder of two 17-year-olds in a West Baltimore park in June 2008.
At the time of the double homicide in Senator Troy Brailey Easterwood Park, Crockett was serving probation, having been convicted of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute in 2007. As a result, the State's Attorney's Office and the Maryland Department of Parole and Probation sought a violation of probation hearing. During that proceeding, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lynn K. Stewart sentenced Crockett to an additional nine years, nine months, and 12 days.
Judge Fletcher-Hill ruled that the life sentences must be served consecutive to the violation of probation sentence.
Assistant State's Attorney David Grzechowiak prosecuted the homicide case, and Assistant State's Attorney Nancy Olin prosecuted the violation of probation.
