Duties of Civilian Review Unit Assistant State’s Attorney:
- Interview complainants who have filed a criminal complaint (approved by a court commissioner) against a defendant.
- Review and assess complaints for legal sufficiency and case viability.
- Maintain statistical databases.
- Request and organize evidence.
- Work with additional attorney and support staff.
- Ability to take copious and accurate notes.
- Enter all appropriate documents and notes in Judicial Dialog.
- Handle Bail Review Hearings.
Applicants should have the ability to work in a high volume environment, prioritize workload, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, have good interpersonal skills and be highly organized.
This is a full-time position. The hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Qualifications: Applicants must possess a JD and be admitted to practice law in the state of Maryland. The selected candidate will be required to submit to a criminal background check before starting employment.
Compensation:
Starting salary is $ 74,943 or commensurate with experience.
