The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Community Liaison.  This is a dual role position that will report to the Director of Community Engagement and another substantive unit within the office. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Community Liaison Duties

  • Represent the State’s Attorney at inter-agency meetings, community association meetings, and community events, including meetings with the Baltimore Police Department
  • Identify important meetings and events in a designated police district
  • Report community problems or issues through proper internal protocols
  • Identify options and solutions to the issues raised by the community
  • Educate the community about services provided by the office
  • Track cases that are of concern to the community and secure community/victim impact statements where appropriate
  • Promote office events and distribute office communication materials
  • Assisting community members with submitting victim/community impact statements

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required, advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Three years of experience in community outreach and/or data analysis
  • Ability to maintain productive working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, to include community members, advocates, lobbyists, and law enforcement professionals
  • Proficient in Google Earth, M.S. Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system
  • Knowledge of law enforcement and public safety agencies
  • Knowledge of Baltimore City community resources and functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to document information and maintain accurate records
  • Computer skills (must be Excel proficient and familiar with basic Microsoft Office suite and other software packages)
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Access to a reliable vehicle

Salary: $47,604.00 - $57,857.00 plus benefits
