The Office is seeking an Assistant State’s Attorney to work as the conviction integrity program prosecutor in the Conviction Integrity Unit--Circuit Court Division, 9th Floor 120 E. Baltimore Street. The ASA will handle day to day reviews of incoming out of court claims of wrongful conviction and in court writs of actual innocence petitions.

The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Chief of the Economic Crimes Division. The Division is responsible for investigation and prosecution of financial fraud criminal cases which include employee embezzlement, public assistance fraud, insurance fraud, social security fraud and elder financial exploitation. 

The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Chief of the Narcotics Unit.  The Narcotics Unit prosecutes felony controlled dangerous substance and associated firearms cases. The unit also works with law enforcement partners to conduct longer term narcotics investigations. The Chief directly supervises 12 attorneys and three staff members.

The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Assistant State’s Attorney (ASA) to handle felony jury trials. A Felony ASA performs progressively responsible legal work for the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City involving preparing and litigating felony cases of varying complexity. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. 

The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Chief of the Special Victims Unit.  The SVU prosecutes physical and sexual child abuse, child homicide, adult sexual offenses, human trafficking, domestic violence, vulnerable adult, and other special victim’s cases. The Chief directly supervises approximately nineteen attorneys and additional support staff.

The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Chief of the Major Investigations Unit.  The Major Investigations Unit prosecutes violent repeat offenders and complex multi-defendant cases. The unit also works with law enforcement partners to conduct longer term investigations into pattern offenses involving serial violence, human trafficking and drug trafficking organizations. The Chief directly supervises ten attorneys and three staff members.

The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Data Analyst. The Data Analyst provides support for the Crime Strategies Unit (CSU) and executive staff of the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City. The Data Analyst is responsible for professional-level work in the area of crime analysis and data-driven prosecution. The Data Analyst will work with various intelligence sources and data sets to draw connections between individuals and organizations, identify crime trends, and examine impediments to optimal administration of justice in Baltimore’s criminal justice system. The Data Analyst will also assist CSU in the production of briefings and reports detailing these findings.
