Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigations Division is vital to the successful prosecution of criminal cases within the BCSAO.   The division searches and identifies case facts performing a variety of duties, including serving subpoenas, locating witnesses and victims, conducting taped statements upon request, escorting Assistant State’s Attorney’s to and from court for high profile cases, investigating juvenile offenders, and testifying in court. Investigators are cross trained in all areas supported by the Investigation Division.  The Criminal Investigation Division is particularly critical to the work of the Economic Crimes Unit investigating financial crime and elder abuse, as well case preparation for the Special Victims Unit.

Criminal Investigations staff includes a Chief Senior Investigator whose duties are to assign cases to investigators and oversee each investigations. The Division consists of eleven (11) trained investigators who duties are to investigate all crimes requested of them from personnel employed by the BCSAO.
