Community Outreach

The goal of the Community Engagement unit is to foster a future for Baltimore City where community confidence in the criminal justice system is restored, violent repeat offenders are held accountable, and communities feel safe. These liaisons are essentially the face and voice of the BCSAO within the neighborhoods that make up the City of Baltimore. They educate and empower community members, neighborhoods, faith-based leaders, business owners, and nonprofit organizations to ensure a direct connection to the State’s Attorney and those who work within the BCSAO.

Our community engagement liaisons inform communities about critical cases and trial dates, help facilitate victim and community impact statements, and connect offenders, witnesses, and victims to necessary resources. From attending community meetings and events such as the annual National Night Out to working directly with residents to better inform them on the nuts and bolts of the criminal justice system, this unit is responsible for engaging residents to provide essential information regarding aspects related to the BCSAO and the resources provided by partnering organizations.
