Daniel Truslow was originally convicted in 2005 of Second-Degree Sex Offense of a four-year-old child
Baltimore, Md. (October 6, 2025) – Today, the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City announced that defendant Daniel Truslow was sentenced to 20 years for violating his probation by failing to register as a sex offender, not completing sex offender treatment, and not taking prescribed medications. Chief of the Special Victims Unit, ASA Jennifer McAllister, prosecuted this case.
“Our commitment to delivering justice does not end after the verdict is read. My prosecutors are committed to protecting victims and the public by ensuring offenders meet significant consequences for violating their probation,” said State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates. “This repeat sex offender was absolutely a risk to public safety when he failed to follow the requirements of his probation. He is now facing a 20-year sentence, which gives him time to reflect on his decision to disregard the court’s order. I applaud Chief McAllister for maintaining justice for the victims of this defendant.”
On August 6, 2004, at approximately 10:19 p.m., Baltimore Police reported to the 1500 block of Union Avenue. Upon arrival, they were met at the scene by the victim’s father, who advised that he witnessed the aftermath of a sexual assault committed by defendant Daniel Truslow against his four-year-old daughter. The father had walked into his daughter’s room and saw the defendant with his pants down and the victim’s underwear pulled down. The victim also confirmed what had happened. The defendant later admitted to the crime and pled guilty to Second-Degree Sex Offense. He was sentenced to 40 years, suspending all but 18 years. He was also required to register as a sex offender, complete sex offender treatment, and follow his agent’s lawful instruction to take physician-prescribed psychotropic medication.
Prior to this incident, the defendant pled guilty in 1997 to Second-Degree Sex Offense involving two nine-year-old victims.
