Marcus Holloway was shot and killed by defendant Antonio King in November 2024

Baltimore, Md. (October 20, 2025) – Today, the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City announced that defendant Antonio King was given a Life sentence plus 35 years for his role in the fatal shooting of Marcus Holloway and the non-fatal shooting of another man on November 18, 2024, at the 1900 block of Edmondson Avenue.

“This broad daylight double shooting is a chilling reminder that, regardless of the historic progress we have made, gun violence continues to be a serious issue in neighborhoods across Baltimore,” said State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates. “Thanks to the skilled prosecution by my Homicide team and the outstanding investigative work by Baltimore Police Department’s homicide detectives, we have ensured that this defendant remains off our streets. I hope the family of Mr. Holloway feels their loved one got justice, and I wish the surviving victim continued healing as he journeys on the road to a full recovery.”

On November 18, 2024, at approximately 9:12 a.m., Baltimore Police responded to the 1900 block of Edmondson Avenue following a Shot Spotter alert, where they discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to Shock Trauma Hospital, where Marcus Holloway was pronounced deceased. The other victim went into emergency surgery and survived his injuries.

Detectives were able to obtain CCTV from the block of the shooting that showed the events of the shooting. The victims were standing in a group, and the shooter can be seen arguing with them before he goes to the passenger side of a Black GMC SUV parked on the block and removes an item from the car. The shooter then returned to the victims and shot them both at very close range before driving away.

Additional video footage was recovered from the liquor store located at 1901 Edmonson Avenue. About an hour prior to the shooting, this same CCTV showed the GMC pulling up and the shooter getting out of the vehicle wearing a baseball cap, light compression leggings with black shorts on top, and a light colored top with dark coloring on the bottom of it. Detectives were able to discern the license plate number, and the store CCTV clearly showed the shooter as he entered the store.

Detectives were able to determine the GMC belonged to defendant Antonio King and located the vehicle parked in front of the defendant's house. Officers surveilled the house and observed the defendant and another man arrive at the residence. The defendant was wearing the same clothing from the homicide earlier in the day and was identified by a witness as the shooter in the case.
