Trillion Bryant was found guilty of Attempted First-Degree Murder and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon Openly
Baltimore, Md. (March 6, 2026) – Yesterday, the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City announced that Defendant Trillion Bryant was given a Life sentence for slashing a 43-year-old man with a sword at the Lexington Market Metro Station in August 2024. Bryant was found guilty by a jury in January of Attempted First-Degree Murder and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon Openly. Assistant State’s Attorney Reginald Fugett prosecuted this case.
“Today’s sentence ensures that the Defendant will be held fully accountable for an act of shocking and senseless violence. The survivor in this case endured a terrifying and deeply traumatic attack that nearly cost him his life,” said State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates. “No one should ever have to experience that kind of brutality while simply going about their day in Baltimore. We are grateful to the court for recognizing the severity of this crime and delivering a Life sentence that reflects the profound harm caused. This outcome brings a measure of justice to the Victim and sends a clear message that acts of extreme violence will be met with serious consequences.”
On Friday, August 16, 2024, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) police were notified that a stabbing occurred at the Lexington Market Metro Station located on the 300 block of W. Lexington Street. The Victim was identified as a 43-year-old man and was subsequently transported to Shock Trauma Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
CCTV footage shows the Victim, who did not know the Defendant, exiting a train car when Trillion Bryant attempts to block his path. The Victim moves toward the east exit, but Bryant follows him behind the mezzanine level. After a brief confrontation, the Victim flees across the transfer level. Bryant then removes a sword from his backpack and advances. When the Victim falls, Bryant swings the sword repeatedly toward his head, striking him multiple times.
The Victim manages to escape and run toward Lexington Market, where a security officer sees him and provides aid. Bryant briefly pursues the Victim before turning back and walking away on W. Lexington Street. He later enters a business on the 200 block of N. Howard Street, and is seen leaving without his backpack and with his sweatshirt removed.
