BPD Officer Found Guilty of Second-Degree Assault of Four-Year-Old Daughter

Baltimore, Md. (July 17, 2025) - Today, State's Attorney Ivan J. Bates announced that Baltimore Police Department Officer Christian Dwayne Allen was found guilty of the Second-Degree Assault of his four-year-old daughter. Allen faces 10 years and/or a $5,000 fine at sentencing in September. Assistant State's Attorney Kimberly K. P. Rothwell prosecuted this case.

"Domestic violence is a pervasive issue in our city that occurs in every neighborhood regardless of race, socio-economic status, or even occupation," said State's Attorney Ivan J. Bates. "The trauma inflicted as a result of Mr. Allen's actions cannot be overstated, and I am thankful to ASA Rothwell for holding him accountable for this disgraceful behavior. Whether you wear a uniform or not, domestic violence is completely unacceptable."

On January 26, 2025, Baltimore police reported to the 1700 block of Bank Street in reference to a domestic-related assault. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the incident occurred following a verbal dispute between Officer Christian Allen and his wife. During the dispute, Officer Allen snatched a cell phone from his wife's hands and threw it down a hallway. At the time the phone was thrown, Officer Allen's four-year-old daughter entered the hallway and was subsequently struck on her collar by the phone, causing her clavicle to break.
