Defendant Faces Life in Prison for First-Degree Rape

Baltimore (Md.) August 14, 2026 - Today, the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office announced that Defendant Daquon McCullers was found guilty of First-Degree Rape and related offenses for attacking a woman he met online. The Defendant faces a Life sentence at his disposition hearing on December 17, 2026. Assistant State's Attorney Alexandra Aich prosecuted this case.

“The brutality and aggression of this defendant’s actions are deeply disturbing, and this conviction ensures he will be held accountable for the unimaginable trauma and harm he inflicted," said State's Attorney Ivan J. Bates. "I commend the survivor for the extraordinary courage she demonstrated by coming forward and immediately reporting this horrific crime. Her strength not only helped us secure justice in this case, but also allowed law enforcement to act swiftly to ensure this defendant could not continue to prey upon others. Her courage undoubtedly saved other women from potentially encountering this defendant in the future.”

On June 25, 2025, at 1:44 a.m., a woman walked into the Baltimore Police Department's Southwestern District to report a rape. The woman reported that she went to the home of a man she met online at the 700 block of Linnard Street at his request. 

When she entered the location, the woman realized she had been to the residence before. It was dark inside the home, but when she encountered the Defendant, Daquon McCullers, she recognized who he was from a previous meeting two years prior when she first communicated with him that she did not want a relationship, despite his advances at the time. On the date of this incident, the Defendant escorted the woman upstairs and told her to wait in a bedroom. This made the woman nervous and uneasy. When the Defendant entered the bedroom, he began strangling the woman and proceeded to rape her.

During the attack, the woman realized the Defendant was recording his actions on an electronic device. This video was recovered as a part of case evidence and showed the woman in distress and pleading for the Defendant to stop the attack. The Defendant then told the woman to leave the residence. As she gathered her belongings, the Defendant followed her outside and attempted to rape her again. The woman was able to escape and call a friend to take her to the police station. Digital evidence showed the Defendant stopped recording the incident at 1:33 a.m.

Officers noted visible marks around woman's neck upon her arrival to the police station. She was taken to Mercy Medical Center for a S.A.F.E kit. During that examination, evidence of the strangulation and the rape was observed and documented.
