Law Clerks are an essential part of the office. Members of the BCSAO Honors Law Clerk Program are full-time benefitted employees of the BCSAO. Law Clerks are assigned to work in one of the trial units. Current 2L/3L students, recent law school graduates and newly admitted attorneys will be considered for the Honors Law Clerk Program. Typically, when staffing vacant ASA positions, consideration is given to current Law Clerks first. The Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City accepts applications on a rolling basis for membership into the Honors Law Clerk Program. We retain a pool of eligible applicants and make offers as positions become available.
Responsibilities
Law Clerks work closely with Assistant State’s Attorneys to: Assist in investigations and hearings Aid in interviewing witnesses and police officers Assist attorneys with trials Conduct and analyze legal research Draft motions
